I started to think in a visual form when I made a cake for my dad when he hit the big 4-0. Something about transforming that edible material into a hill featuring a live green pasture and dead decomposing grass lands struck me as fascinating. I became very interested in manipulating materials and found myself in culinary school in 2005. After I completed the program in 2006 and could successful call myself a potential pastry chef I decided to go to school again at the University of Oregon and enrolled into the Digital Art and Jewelry and Metalsmithing programs. My dad is now 45 and I've gotten two degrees and am working on freelance projects and baking away in a small gluten-free coffee shop helping people with celiac disease by making some pretty tasty gluten-free treats.
Currently I'm working on a jewelry series featuring elegant brooches, necklaces, and bracelets made from sugar.
